Venue hire
St James Church is set in the centre of Muswell Hill in North London, with instant access to the local town, good public transport connections, and beautiful buildings.
Our church buildings are used primarily for St James Church events & activities, but we welcome enquiries from those who would like to hire space for community activities or events.
We have the following spaces available to hire:
Main Church
The main church is primarily used for St James Church services, events, and activities. We are also happy to host concerts and Christian events, subject to availability and our Vicar's approval.
The venue can include the stage and a sound system at an additional cost. The maximum capacity is 400 people in a theatre-style layout, although additional seating may need to be hired.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept bookings for private celebrations, events, or other activities that are not listed above.
Birchwood Centre
The Birchwood Centre offers a spacious and functional space for community events, parties, exercise classes and more.
This venue is located at 171 Fortis Green Road, N10 3BG (see map). You can download a diagram of the Birchwood Centre with accompanying photos with the above link.
Birchwood Hall: 12m x 15m approx (37 ft X 50 ft); height 5m (17 ft). Maximum capacity: 200 standing / 100 seated. Please note you may be required to hire seating for your event. Small meeting room, kitchen and accessible toilets are also available as part of the hire.
The Green Room: A small meeting space that can seat up to around 15 people.
As we are a Christian organisation, we are unable to accommodate bookings that are inconsistent with our Christian ethos.

Hourly Rate
Birchwood Hall: One-off events - £70.00 p/hr
Birchwood Hall: Regular booking - £50.00 p/hr
Green Room - £25.00 p/hr
Plus, a refundable deposit of £100.00
