the generosity of our members

Generosity is at the heart of Christian faith — starting with God’s lavish generosity to us, in the goodness of our world, and the greatness of the gospel.

So when we give, we grow more like our generous God. We participate in his kingdom work, and experience the joy of blessing others. Your gifts — whether time, talent, or treasure — enable our church to worship together, serve our community, and share the gospel.

The Bible reminds us that it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35), and Jesus teaches us that where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:21). As Paul writes, God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).

Whether you're a longtime member or exploring faith with us, we invite you to give as God leads you. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference.

As well as funding most of the work that St James engages in directly, we want to be a generous church and have therefore pledged to give away 10% of whatever giving we receive to World Mission.

Every effort is made to ensure that money given to St James is used responsibly and wisely. As a Registered Charity, we are governed by charity law. Our Trustees, the Church Council, receive regular accounts and ensure money is used for the purpose for which it was given. Our annual accounts are independently audited, and copies are available if you’d like to see them.
