Jyms is the youth group for 11-14s (years 7-9). We have various things going on throughout the week. Have a read and come along!

On Sundays, we have two groups (11 a.m. and 5 p.m.), depending on what time you can make it. At 11a.m., we meet at the Birchwood Centre until 12.15pm. We start by playing pool or table tennis or chat, then we have a Bible talk, discussion, and prayer. On the last Sunday of the month, we start off in the 11 a.m. service at St James’s Church, and then head down to the Birchwood Centre after 10/15 minutes. At 5 p.m, we start off at St James’s Church in the 5 o’clock service, and after some songs, we head out to the Church vestry where we do similar things as the morning (minus the pool – sorry!).

During the week, we have boys and girls Bible studies. The aim of these is to get to know each other better, and to read the Bible in smaller groups, so we can discuss and understand it, and get to know Jesus better. We pray together here too, so we can talk to God about what we’ve learned. We have a lot of fun at these, and would encourage you to come! The boys meet at 5pm on Tuesdays until about 6.30pm, and the girls meet at 6.30-7.45pm on Thursdays both at The Birchwood Centre.

Every now and then, we have socials too, generally at weekends. In the past we’ve had evenings such as ‘Make your own movie’ and ‘Crystal Maze’. Fun and frantic indeed!
