Sunday services
Sunday services in St James are friendly and informal. Each Sunday we seek to engage with God and with each other, through worship, prayer, Bible teaching and fellowship. We celebrate communion each week at 8am, and once per month in the other services. Prayer ministry is offered at each week, and there is plenty of time to see old friends and welcome newcomers at coffee after the services.
8.00am Holy Communion
A spoken service, in the side chapel, using the Book of Common Prayer.
9.30am & 11.15am Morning Worship
Here we worship with a blend of contemporary and traditional elements. Our style is informal but structured. Many families attend, with the children arriving 15 minutes earlier for PromiseLand. On the last Sunday of the month we meet together with the whole family for All-age Worship. During the 11.15am we run JYMs (11-14) at the Birchwood Centre.
6.00pm Evening Service
An informal service with more time for in-depth worship, teaching and response. The music is lively and contemporary and the congregation has a youthful outlook, encompassing all ages.
We encourage participation in all our services, and there are many ways to become involved - reading, welcoming, praying, projection, sound desk, singing & playing etc. All vital elements of our corporate worship. If you would like to help with on of these Sunday ministries, do contact the church office.
