Promiseland

The best hour of every child's week

Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, because the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’ Mark 10v14. We want to give the children in our community every opportunity to learn about Jesus, God’s kingdom and God’s promises in a place that’s safe, secure and fun…Promiseland!

Children aged 5 to 11 can be dropped off fifteen minutes before the 9.30 and 11.15 services start (apart from the last Sunday in the month when it’s an All Age Worship service). A typical Sunday in Promiseland will have:

  • Time spent at activity stations building relationships through playing games and doing crafts.
  • Large group time looking at the Bible in a relevant and creative way with dramas, story telling and videos followed by singing.
  • Small group time to explore the teaching in age-appropriate ways - games, discussion, prayer - to find out what God is saying to them today.

If you would like more information about Promiseland or would like to get involved in helping please contact Adam, at adam.maynard@st-james.org.uk.

At both morning services there is a crèche for (0 to 2 years) and a toddler group (2 to 3 years) and Scramblers (3 to 5 years) with Bible stories, crafts, singing and play.
