Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals
It is often either at times if great joy or at times of great sadness that people look to the church for help with the great transitions of life and death.
We would love to talk with you about your wedding, if you are recently engaged. We believe passionately in the importance of Christian marriage and, whether you would call yourself a Christian or not, we would love to help you prepare not just for one special day but for a lifelong commitment together. We run the Marriage Preparation course (http://relationshipcentral.org/marriage-preparation-course). We will also be developing a mentoring system whereby young couples, who would like some help from those who’ve been married longer, can be linked with married couples in the church.
We would also love to talk with you about the baptism of your child or children or your own baptism as an adult. We see baptism as a sign of belonging and believing and , for children especially, of welcoming them into the family of the church. Our role is then one of partnership with parents as we seek to provide support for parents in bringing up children within the Christian faith through the work of Sunday Gang.
Obviously the death of a loved one is a very different occasion; but again we would love to help and support you through those dark days. We can help to organise and plan a funeral service. We also have staff members who can provide personal counsel and support through the whole bereavement process.
